What Stops You?

I don’t pretend to understand how the human brain works.
Some say that the grey matter in the male of the species functions in a rather more straightforward manner than the female (!) but I couldn’t possibly comment.
Certainly, there’s no evidence within EC to suggest that the major, most fundamental dysfunction in ways of thinking is more prevalent with men or women.  I think it’s exactly the same.
That doesn’t make it any less stupid.

Let’s say you want to bake some gorgeous bread.  You’ve never baked bread before, so what do you do?  You get a recipe and you follow it.
The result is, if you follow the recipe properly: a nice loaf of bread.
I remember when I was a kid I used to love making Airfix models.
Fighter planes, bombers, galleons. Loved it. My pal, Stuart, used to like making models as well, but we used to get very different results. You see, I used to follow the instructions.  Meticulously.  He just worked it out as he went on.
He enjoyed the process very much, but he never nailed any of his models.  There was always bits missing or, more often, he couldn’t fit the undercarriage because he’d already stuck the wings together, that sort of thing.
The point I’m making here is that, when you want something that somebody has done before then the surest, most certain way to get it is to model what they have done. Follow instructions, if you like.
And, whilst I recognise there’s a lot more to business than baking bread or making an Airfix kit, the fundamentals aren’t that far apart.
Somebody, somewhere, has already done what you want to do.  They’ve achieved it.
So pay attention and model what they did.  Because it will dramatically increase your chances of getting the right result.
One of THE most important things that any entrepreneur can do, if they want their business to become something more than it currently is, is to do your 90 minutes.
Not once, not occasionally, but systematically, at least four and ideally five times a week.
This isn’t some wishy-washy government mantra. It’s hard-nosed, practical advice from people that have built sustainable, successful businesses.
Everyone gets the logic of it. When you spend 90 minutes a day working on the things that will make your business more successful, then you’ll make some progress.
Skip those 90 minutes, and get caught up in the day-to-day and nothing much will change from one week to the next, one month to the next or one year to the next.
You know that to be true.
You “get” the logic.
So why don’t you do it?
Oh, sure, you might be one of the 23% of EC members who are actively using the 90 Minute Tracker on the EC Hub but, statistically, you’re more likely to be one of the 77% that have not used it at all yet.
Now usage of the Tracker, per se, means nothing at all. But doing the 90 minutes means the world of difference to your future. Your life. And the lives of your family.
Because if you persist in ignoring the 90 minute rule, then your chances of getting anywhere close to where you want to be are trivial.  Tiny. Miniscule.
Anything worth having requires focus and attention, and that’s what the 90 minutes brings to your business.  Focus and attention on the things that will move you closer towards where you want to be.
And the price you pay when you forego that is that those deep roots that are embedded in mediocrity get firmer and stronger, and you’re diminished as a result.
Doing your 90 minutes, every single day, is where super-success starts. That’s the final word…
