The Untold Secret

by Nigel Botterill

If you’re looking to discover how to get your customers to give you money over and over again then this message will cut to the chase and give you the answers you’re looking for.

Because I’m going to reveal the untold specific strategies for KEEPING a customer for YEARS to come – and transforming them into your raving fans.

Imagine being able to send out 1 email and have a flood of orders crash into your bank account…

Or not having to worry about where your business is going b in 5,10, 15 years from now and KNOW your customers are going to stick with you.

That’s what my top clients and I have been enjoying for years.

That’s because we’ve been employing a CRITICAL marketing concept that most entrepreneurs don’t even know about.

It’s the “Secret Sauce”: To Keeping Customers For LIFE

Here’s the deal: You’d be hard-pressed to find any other business or “guru” whose customers have “hung around” as long as mine. Most customers in other businesses get ‘tired’ after 1-2 years and move on.

Whereas I’ve had customers who have spent £10,000, £25,000, £50,000, even £100,000 with me…many over lots of years.

Come to any EC National Event and you’ll find “lifers” who have been with me for a LONG time.

Now I don’t say this to brag.

I only mention it because I know a thing or two about getting and keeping customers. And what I know for sure is that

Retaining Long-Term Customers For Many Years Has Absolutely NOTHING To Do With Your Product or Service Quality.

Now, to be clear, it’s not that my material stinks. Far from it.

But the REAL reason I have had loyal customers buy from me again and again is because I implement one big secret in my business that 99% of businesses either ignore…or are totally ignorant about…

…and that’s the fact that I make sure my marketing is PERSONALITY—driven.

You see, most of my customers…perhaps you too…can rattle off at least 5-6 things about me off the top of your head.

Perhaps you might know about my family, my love of football and Leeds United, the TV programmes I enjoy, the important role my dad played in my life, how I feel about the big banks or government bureaucracy or that I have a plain-talking ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ style that some people find offensive.

And let me tell you, there’s a really good reason why you know this: Because I made sure you knew these things about me in my marketing, in my talks and in my books.

Listen: The worst thing you can do is be ‘vanilla’ in your business.

There really is no money in the middle.

Being bland and banal like everyone else and expecting customers to come back to you over and over again because of great service or amazing product is a pipe dream.

Won’t happen baby.

You’ve gotta show your personality.

Otherwise, you’re just another ‘ho-hum ‘marketer who doesn’t stand out – and your customers will go elsewhere when they get bored with you.

In any business your ‘herd’ Is the most important asset you’ll have and giving something of yourself, sharing your personality is how you round ‘em up and keep ‘em.

Now some people bristle when I compare customers to cattle – as if it’s a demeaning term. It isn’t. I know several farmers and I’ve met ranchers in America. They all genuinely love their cattle. They care deeply for them and in reality, it’s a very good analogy.

Think about it. A herd of cattle usually roams in packs, and are usually held in with a fence to keep them contained. Without the fence, the cattle will scatter off to greener pastures.

So how do you create AND keep a fence around your herd?

Well, like I said The BIGGEST mistake you can make (and I see it all the time) is to think that your biggest most valuable asset is your product or your intellectual property.

Newsflash: All that can be taken away from you in a heartbeat.

Products and services can be copied (believe me, I know!) but YOU can’t.

Look, it’s getting harder and harder to get customers every day…and every year.

Advertising costs have gone up greatly. Customers are more fickle. And each person has many options when it comes to whom to do business with.

But guess what? There’s only one YOU. And it is absolutely CRITICAL to implement personality-based marketing in your own business.

It is so much harder to sustain long lasting success without it.

“But Nige, My Business Is Different!”

No it’s not.

“But Nige I’m shy”

Get over yourself.

Your lifestyle, and more importantly the lifestyle of your family, depends on it.

If your bottom line requires you to attract MORE customers, clients, or patients…and KEEP them so they’ll do business with you over and over again…then personality led marketing is the way forward for you.

And when last I checked, this covers 99.99% of businesses. Including yours!

So you simply cannot ignore this message.

It’s about how you communicate to your prospects and customers so they’ll bond with you and NEVER “bolt” for to your competitors.

It can be done through Postcards, Newsletters, Emails, Blog Articles, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Direct Mail…NOT just sales letters.

You can no longer just ‘get by’ and do the same as everyone else in your industry.

HUGE Mistake. It’s like shooting yourself in your left foot with a 9mm before running a 100-meter race. It’s going to be EXTREMELY painful…and make you hobble the whole way.

In fact, personality in your marketing is SO important I’d go so far as to say it’s the single biggest, Biggest Lesson, ever featured in this blog.

It’s how you “fence” in your herd. What you do with them after they’ve bought from you and become a customer. And how you communicate so they’ll KEEP buying from you…over and over again.

Think about it: You’ve already spent tons of time and money to GET that customer….

Why have that time and money get flushed down the toilet when they end up leaving “your world” for someone else’s —leaving you to spend MORE money to replace them…

Much better surely to do your hardest to KEEP them.

And the Untold Secret To making that happen – to creating… And Keeping Customers For Life is to create Personality in your copy and your marketing.

It’s your secret sauce.
