Will That Work In My Business

computers
There’s always that one in every office. The one that takes 30 minutes to burst into life every morning, and takes a lifetime to complete even the simplest of tasks.
I’m sure there’s a few staff names running through your head right now, but I’m not talking about them. I’m talking about something that is a whole lot scarier…
Not ‘cause it’s some complicated festering beast set to destroy everything. But because it’s something so unbelievably simple to fix, to put right, to knock out the park never to be seen again, yet so many people just don’t see it.
It’s a hidden problem, it’s seriously hitting your bottom line. And hitting it hard.
I’m talking about Computers.
What if I told you, that those 30 minutes spent waiting for a computer to start up is costing you at least £72 a month. More if you pay your staff over the living wage. More again if you have more than one ‘chugger’ to content with. (Yes, I am talking computers still!)
Look at it this way.
If you’re paying a member of staff £20,000 a year, in round numbers they’re costing you £1,900 a month in salary and National Insurance. You’re investing £1,900 per month in someone to do a particular job.
Yet, because they don’t have the right tools for the job, they’re spending 2 and a half hours a week doing nothing and it’s costing you at least £72 a month – more like £100 on a £20K salary.
Even more if you think about the work they could be doing in those 600 precious minutes. That’s an extra SIX and a half 90-minute sessions between you and me!

That’s EIGHTY extra 90 minutes sessions in a YEAR!

And that is a pretty scary thought.

Time to Troubleshoot

But I also know why it happens.
One of the biggest things I see holding businesses back is their under-investment in their I.T. systems.
Whether they’ve just been and “upgraded” – and I use the term loosely – to the cheapest computer PC World has to offer or are hobbling along on a computer that’s older than time itself, countless businesses are wasting time, money and destroying staff morale with slow and dysfunctional computers.
Even though computers are a key member of the team, they’re seldom thought of as such. Look at it this way, do you want it to be your computers that are holding your people back…or your people that are holding your computers back?
Think about that carefully.
Making sure you’ve got decent I.T. hardware that’s up to date and empowering you and your staff should definitely be up there at the top of your business priority:

  1. Business Productivity. Time really is money, and if your staff are no longer spending 30 minutes a day waiting for their computers to load up, your business can enjoy much greater productivity.
  2. Staff Morale. You’d be surprised at the difference smart, efficient computers can make to the attitude of the people in your team. Give them the best tools to do their job, and watch morale go  through the roof. (Remember the saying you eat with your eyes – new screens make a massive difference here too!)
  3. Keeping up Appearances. When everyone in your office has smart, matching kit, it can work wonders for your positioning and the way you look to clients. You look infinitely more professional when your I.T. systems are up-to-date and all matching.
  4. Energy Efficiency. Older machines are not only slower, but they’re less energy efficient too. If you’re looking to keep your business bills – and carbon footprint – to a minimum, you should  look at investing in newer hardware.

Reboot Your Thinking

But replacing all of the computers in your business is expensive, right?
There’s a big capital outlay in equipping your team with the best computers, and that doesn’t factor in the extra costs when things go wrong. Which, as you know all too well I’m sure, happens at the worst time.
You’re stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Wouldn’t it be great then, if you could combine the benefits of leasing with securing your business’s I.T. systems?
This got me thinking, “How can I create this in the I.T. industry?”
You do it with cars, with your mobile phone, even Apple are doing this with their products now.
It was then I had my “Eureka!” moment – but that’s a story for another day.
Combining I.T. support with brand new, up-to-date computers – more than suitable for the job that’s being done – Computers 4 Life lets you pay for your computers as you use them rather than having to shell out everything up front.
For a monthly sum, you’ve always got a new computer. For Life.

  • Choose Apple or PC, Desktop or Laptop
  • If you want a sexier machine, you pay a bit more.
  • The big capital outlay is gone, you just pay a fixed monthly amount and we look after the rest. We look after it, we keep it working, we keep it up to date, and in 3 years you get a new one.
  • If it breaks, we fix it. If it can’t be fixed, we give you a new one
  • You can get a courtesy machine whilst yours is being fixed.
  • All your data, all your information, all your programs are transferred for you.
  • It just all works…no more hassle ever again.

Never worry again about slow computers eating into your business productivity, and sit safely in the knowledge that everyone in your team is working on up-to-date machines with all the software they need to do their job. And do it well.
The good news is, even if someone’s on living wage, it’ll cost you significantly less than that 30 minutes a day is at the moment!
