I’ve recently tried out the 80 Hour Cash Machine templates from the EC Hub. I emailed it out to customers on our loyalty scheme who’ve not shopped with us in over 90 days. I tweaked it a little and focussed on them not being “regular” customers rather than not being customers.

To be honest, I read it and thought ‘No – that won’t work for my business!”, but decided to give it a go as it was all there and ready for me to use!
I figured, what did I have to lose? Most of these customers haven’t been in my shop for over 90 days anyway and some of them have only shopped once. I told myself that at worst, they’d all just ignore the email.

I really didn’t expect the responce I got!

Loads of replies telling me why they haven’t been in the shop with around 10% email response rate so far. Most of the people who replied gave me reason 3, which was that they were too busy. Some gave more detailed responses and others even asked if we had specific products they wanted to buy.

And then there were the people who started dropping into the shop and telling me “I got your email, sorry I’ve not been in but (insert excuse!)”. All this within 3 HOURS of sending the email! I only joined a couple of weeks ago, and think I might already be in love with EC!
